15. Known limitations and responsible interpretation

15.1 Heuristic analysis#

Typography and intent cannot be reduced to universal numeric rules. Avellio provides evidence and prioritization; the designer or editor remains responsible for the final decision.

15.2 Locale quality depends on document language data#

AUTO locale is most reliable when paragraph language is correctly assigned. Mixed-language text, unassigned language, brand names, code, URLs, and quoted foreign-language passages can require an explicit profile or manual review.

15.3 Some corrections are intentionally unavailable#

Ambiguous quote pairing, date order, numeric separators, currency placement, abbreviations, style drift, faux small caps, and layout breaks are not automatically normalized. This is a safety boundary, not a missing audit result.

15.4 Scope fallbacks require attention#

The current fallback from an invalid narrow scope to All Pages prevents a silent no-op but can broaden work unexpectedly. Verify the scope before any run, particularly before an Action Layer workflow.

15.5 Live Mode is provisional#

Live Mode favors responsive feedback. It can use a reduced scope or lighter pass and can mark the result as needing audit. Only a fresh full audit should be used for final reports and corrections.

15.6 Palette is document-bound#

One palette session belongs to the document active at launch. Relaunch when switching documents.

15.7 Performance depends on document structure#

Run time depends on story length, overset content, number of frames, threading, enabled geometry checks, overlay mode, profile, scope, and host performance. Rivers detection and Legacy Overlays are intentionally more expensive. This manual does not promise fixed completion times.

15.8 Compatibility and commercial terms#

Use the current product page or release notes for the supported InDesign/operating-system matrix and the applicable license terms. Those can change independently of the analysis engine and should not be inferred from an older manual.
